SocialFaceWorking at LPCA
There will be a SocialFaceWorking exhibit in Lake Placid this January at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. The exhibit will be showing new artwork from many artists including Cal Rice, Eric Ackerson, Victoria Celeste, Carol Vossler, Brooke Noble and Nip Rogers from The Local Fringe. The opening reception is January 13th, from 5-7pm. The show runs from January 13th through February 11th 2012.

Eric and Jessica, both artists and previous owners of The Local Fringe, tied the knot yesterday in a truly special evening ceremony held under the natural canopy of the Adirondack forest. A long procession of family and friends hiked a short distance into the woods and encircled the couple to witness their vows. Congratulations to you both! Oh… and the cake was brownie with pumpkin mousse, oh yeah.

Parts of Main street were blocked off for what many are calling the Summer “Winter Carnival” here in Saranac Lake. The Local Fringe took part in the festivities by rolling out a large sheet of paper for anyone capable of wielding a crayon, marker or chalk.

The Local Fringe is celebrating it’s one year anniversary, this May, with a month long exhibition of local artists. The exhibition is a competition juried by you, the people. We have twenty seven entries that everyone can vote on. Come on in anytime during the month of May to vote for your favorite exhibited piece. The opening reception, which was held from 5-9 Friday evening (May 6th), was a great success as many patrons wandered in and out to cast their vote. Browse through some pics, from the opening, below.

The Fringe is celebrating its one year anniversary this May with an 8×10 People’s Choice Art Competition. The event is open to all artists. The opening reception is May 6th from 5-9pm and voting will take place throughout the exhibition. Awards will be given at the closing reception on June 3rd from 5-9pm. Requirements: 2D and 3D – 8″ x 10″ original works ready for hanging (extra space allowed if framed).Entry Fee: $10.00 per piece ($7.00 for students). Victoria Celeste and Nip Rogers were selected to show in the 13th Annual Juried Art Competition through the Adirondack Artists Guild.
